Prof. Joe,

I attribute a lot of my recent growth in God to the Left Behind series I've begun reading. I'm only on book three but it is changing my views on the Bible and how I relate to God when I pray.  It really is the most exhilarating thing to happen in my life!  I guess what I'm getting at here is asking what you think of the books.  As it relates to Christianity as well as tools to help save people.  I truly feel touched by something outside what these books are saying.

I think the Left Behind series has proven to be a powerful representation of the message of Christ. I have read all of the series and think that the books are not only a great piece of fiction but do contain spiritual truths. The only criticism of the books that I would give is that people sometimes get caught up in the details and fear of the “end times”. The truth of the matter is that the Left Behind series had to do a lot of guessing when it comes to interpreting the book of Revelation in order to make a story out of the events. We should not be caught up with fear for the end times, but eagerly await the unknown time of the second coming of the Lord.
